PKMN United is an unofficial Pokémon league based in Mexico. It was created in 2004.

Among the league's responsibilities are organizing NetBattle tournaments, challenges with other leagues, and soccer games. Tournament winners are awarded with the titles of Champion, Elite Four members, and Gym Leader.

History

Prior to starting the league, the founders belonged to an Atomix clan named Gamers Force. They specialized in Super Smash Brothers Melee, but also played other video games. After they decided to make their own Pokémon Legue, they began coming up with different ideas for it. Among them, the name would be Pokemasters and be composed of people from all over Mexico. Eventually, the league was formed only in the north and central regions of the country. Although initially training their own Pokémon, the league soon acquired knowledge of GameShark, Action Replay and Pokémon Factory.

Throughout its history, PKMN United has had a rivalry with Nekenio. Despite being on friendly terms at the beginning of the site's existence, it degenerated into an aggressive rivalry. The rivalry was private until April of 2006, when a Nekenio member won the First Ady's tournament.

In July of 2006, when the head of Nekenio won the third Pokemax tournament, many PKMN United members suffered from a demoralization. Many of them withdrew their membership when Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were released. As a result, PKMN United nearly vanished off the internet.

Today, the league consists of only 15 members.
