In the manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
A Ninja Boy makes a cameo while the main characters visit Veilstone City. He first appears in Magnificent Meditite & Really Riolu I. He was supposed to challenge Maylene but she mixed the Ninja Boy and his friends with the three main characters, due to the main characters possessing an item that made landing attacks easier she had heard the kids talking about.
Trivia
- Hoenn Ninja Boys have Asian name derivations, while Sinnoh Ninja Boys have European names. The same thing happens to Black Belts.
- The way the Generation IV Ninja Boys hold their Poké Balls may be a reference to the popular anime series, Naruto. The titular character's signature move, the Rasengan, is a sphere of energy held in the same way while it is being formed.
