Netflix is an Internet-based on-demand streaming service. The service has episodes and television movies without television network logos or advertisements. Netflix is currently available in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Brazil, the Nordics, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
In the United States
Netflix requires a monthly subscription fee of $8.99 in the United States, formerly $7.99. The anime has been available on Netflix since early 2014.[1] The seasons are based on the season broadcasts in the dub. For example, Pokémon: Indigo League is split up into two seasons. The Indigo League episodes have the 1998 commercial bumpers where Brock says "We'll be back after these messages," and then after the advertisement when he says "And now, back to our show." However, due to Netflix not having advertisements during streaming, these bumpers serve no purpose.
When Indigo League first became available for streaming, Netflix only got the first 52 episodes as they were aired in the US first season order.[2] Netflix added Season 2 of the Indigo League episodes during Summer 2014, which contained 23 Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands episodes as a bonus since those are a part of US season 2, although the title Pokémon: Indigo League still remains even though Adventures in the Orange Islands is not a part of Indigo League.[3]
Since Netflix in the United States uses the English dub versions, EP035 and EP038 are not included. Even though the banned episodes Beauty and the Beach, Holiday Hi-Jynx, Stage Fight!, and The Mandarin Island Miss Match were dubbed, they are banned on Netflix too.

- Pokémon: Indigo League (includes Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands in second season, up to Charizard Chills)
- Pokémon: Black & White (second season called "Season 2" instead of "Rival Destinies")
Pokémon: Black & White has English and Latin American Spanish audio tracks and closed captioning. However, Pokémon: Indigo League only has English audio tracks and closed captioning.
Movies
- Pokémon: the Movie: Black: Victini and Reshiram
- Pokémon: the Movie: White: Victini and Zekrom
- Pokémon: the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice
- Pokémon: the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened
Despite Pokémon: Indigo League and Adventures in the Orange Islands having corresponding movies, only the movies corresponding to the three seasons of the Best Wishes series were included. All movies have English and Spanish audio tracks and closed captioning. Genesect and the Legend Awakened keeps its original ending theme, unlike the Cartoon Network and DVD releases, which replace it.
In other territories
Canada
In Canada, Netflix subscriptions cost $7.99CAD monthly. While Netflix Canada does not receive all the same programming as in the United States, it does have all the same Pokémon content as in the United States.
In Canada, all the Pokémon: Indigo League and Adventures in the Orange Islands are available for streaming with English subtitles and audio only. All of the other content is available with English audio and subtitles or French audio and subtitles. The French audio and subtitles are from the European French version.
Brazil
In Brazil, Netflix subscriptions cost R$19,90 monthly. All of the Best Wishes series anime seasons and movies are available for streaming in Brazilian Portuguese. It is also possible to watch some of the content with Spanish or English audio. However, only English subtitles are available.
Pokémon: Preto e Branco was added on March 1, 2014 along with the two versions of the fourteenth Pokémon movie. Later that year, on June 1, the fifteenth season and its corresponding movie were also made available. Pokémon Preto e Branco: Aventuras em Unova e Além and Pokémon O Filme: Genesect e a Lenda Revelada were added on March 15, 2015.
New Zealand
Netflix became available to New Zealand in 2015. New Zealand has access to the same Pokémon content as subscribers in the United States and Canada, however the audio and closed captions are only available in English.
Trivia
- Unlike Hulu, the movies on Netflix are permanently kept on the service ever since they were first added on Netflix.
- When Netflix is being used on a Wii, on the full playlist, Black & White is displayed first before Indigo League, and then the movies are displayed on the bottom. On a computer, Indigo League comes before Black & White.
- The closed captioning for the first season of Pokémon: Indigo League is in all caps and, until Wake Up Snorlax!, omits the e-acute on Pokémon. It also misspells "Teach Pokémon to understand" in Pokémon Theme as "EACH POKÉMON TO UNDERSTAND". The closed captioning is changed to sentence case for season two and, as of Lights, Camera, Quack-tion, the Pokémon Theme lyric is correctly spelled. Also, the font for the closed captioning in both seasons of Pokémon: Indigo League, as well as the first two seasons and movies of Pokémon: Black & White is in Courier, while the third season and movie opt for a sans-serif font.
- When the title cards are displayed for Indigo League, the text isn't repeated on the closed captioning. For the first two seasons of Black & White, it is. For season three of Black & White, it displays "[narrator reads text on screen]".
- The Latin American captions for the title cards read "[narrator] Hoy presentamos: [episode title]" for seasons 1-3, unlike the English captioning.
