Profile
Historical origin
Nene is based on the real-life Nene of Japanese history. She is wife to Hideyoshi. Her other subordinates are also ninja: Chiyome (Mochizuki Chiyome) was responsible for creating an all-female group of ninja; Sandayū (Momochi Sandayū) was an Iga ninja; and Hatsume (Hatsume no Tsubone) was a female ninja in Ieyasu's service. Hanzō was also a Iga ninja in Ieyasu's service, and Nene sided with Ieyasu after Hideyoshi's death, during a dispute of power between Ieyasu and Hideyoshi's son by Chacha, Hideyori (Toyotomi Hideyori).
