Reason: An image of encountering them in battle.

N's Pokémon (Japanese: Nのポケモン N's Pokémon) are Pokémon in Black 2 and White 2 that were previously owned by the Pokémon Trainer N.

In the games

N's Pokémon are obtainable via Memory Link, with the exception of N's Zorua, who is obtainable through the main story by defeating Rood and obtaining it from him. Once Memory Link is used, if the player has completed the story line of Pokémon Black and White (defeating N and Ghetsis), the player can see a flashback of N releasing his Pokémon with a Team Plasma Grunt prior to the events of N's Castle in Black and White in Chargestone Cave.

Upon encountering one of N's Pokémon, the game will notify by showing a sprite entry animation that is similar to the Shiny Pokémon sprite, but instead has its own sound and the Pokémon is surrounded by green and yellow diamond lights. The flavor text will read "A wild <Pokémon> appeared?!" Upon being captured, the game will notify the player that the Pokémon already has an original trainer, before putting it in the player's party or PC storage. Once captured, the Pokémon will have N's ID Number, 00002. These Pokémon cannot be nicknamed since they have no Secret ID. N's Pokémon have a set nature, and have IVs of 30 in each stat. They are incapable of being Shiny.

While there is only one of each Pokémon, if the Pokémon faints or the battle is otherwise ended without the Pokémon being caught, it can be encountered again. In each different copy of the game, N's Pokémon have a 1 to 5% chance of appearing - so it may be 3% on one game, but 5% on another copy.

Trivia

  • Because N's Pokémon have 30 IVs in each stat, if they are taught Hidden Power, then it will always result in a Fighting-type move with a base power of 70.
  • Some of N's Pokémon contradict themselves from Black and White.
  • N had never used the Pokémon he had in his childhood in battle, which are Woobat, Darmanitan, and Zorua. However, these Pokémon were only featured in the introduction video in the original Pokémon Black and White.
  • N's Darmanitan is the only Pokémon that has a Hidden Ability, Zen Mode.
    • It is also the only Pokémon that the player can obtain twice: one from Darmanitan itself, and one from evolving Darumaka, though Darumaka will not evolve into a Zen mode Darmanitan.
  • All of N's Pokémon have maximum friendship when captured, the only Pokémon in the game to do so.
