Multi Technical Machine 01 (Japanese: マルチワザマシン０１ Multi-Technique Machine 01) is a Technical Machine card. It was first released as part of the Expedition Base Set.

Card text

Attach this card to 1 of your Pokémon in play. That Pokémon may use this card's attack instead of its own. At the end of your turn, discard Multi Technical Machine 01.

e-Reader data

The Expedition Base Set print includes a Dot Code strip for use with the e-Reader, and has the card ID B-64-#. The short strip contains a brief card summary. There is no long strip for this card.

Release information

This card was included in the English Expedition Base Set, first released in the Japanese Base Expansion Pack. It was later reprinted in the POP Series 2 expansion, originating from the Japanese Master Kit.

Trivia

• This is the first Technical Machine card released internationally. The first Technical Machine cards were printed in the Pokémon VS set.
• The Dot Code data for the Expedition Base Set print details the attack's name as "Paralyzing Stare" instead of "Paralyzing Gaze".

Origin

This card is notable in that it replicates a TM (Technical Machine) from the Pokémon video games, but is only temporary, as the move can only be used once, and is then discarded, rather than permanently added to the Pokémon's moveset.
