Mr. Matthews

Mr. Matthews (Japanese: マシュー Matthew) is the character of the day in Movie Time! Zorua in "The Legend of the Pokémon Knight"!.

Mr. Matthews was the owner of a movie theater and was Luke's mentor. He allowed Luke to watch films in the theater for free in exchange that he helped out with the projection of the film. Later after Zorua had run away, Mr. Matthews was introduced to Ash, Iris, and Cilan then informed Luke that Zorua had fled inside the theater. After Zorua and Luke reconciled, he let Luke and his new friends use the theater's storage rooms to prepare props and costumes. At the end of the episode, he suggested that Luke compete in the Don Battle tournament being held in Nimbasa Town to help him to experience competitive battling to make scenes in his movies more intense. From him, Ash and friends also learned of the tournament and decided to compete.
