A Move Deleter (Japanese: わすれオヤジ Forgetting Man) is the opposite of a Move Reminder. For no charge, they will make a Pokémon forget a move it knows.

This is the only way for a Pokémon to forget HM moves such as Cut or Fly, besides using the Day Care. In order to delete an HM move, one must first have another Pokémon with that same move in order for it to be deleted. This is done so that a player will not get stuck in an area where an HM move is required to continue. In addition, a Pokémon's move will not be forgotten if it is the only move it knows.

The Move Deleter's service was also used in the second generation games to delete moves exclusive to the second generation so that Pokémon could be traded to Generation I games via the Time Capsule. Similarly, a Pokémon in Generation III must first forget its HM moves before it can be transferred to Generation IV via Pal Park, and a Pokémon in Generation IV must forget its HM moves before it can be transferred to Generation V via the Poké Transfer.
