Moonlight (Japanese: つきのひかり Moonlight) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II.
Effect
Moonlight restores the user's current HP based on the weather conditions and time of day. Normal conditions will restore ½ of the total HP.
Generations III and IV
Moonlight restores the user's current HP based on the weather conditions in the battle. Sunny conditions restore ⅔ HP, normal conditions restore ½ HP, and other conditions restore ¼ HP.

Trivia
- Even though the recovery move is called "moonlight" signifying that it would recover more HP at night, it actually recovers more HP during intense sunlight brought on by Sunny Day. This is because the Japanese name for Sunny Day is simply Clear Sky.
- It should also be noted that the moon reflects sunlight, so it could still work in that regard.
