* Even though the recovery move is called "moonlight" signifying that it would recover more HP at night, it actually recovers more HP during intense sunlight brought on by Sunny Day. This is because the Japanese name for Sunny Day is simply ''Clear Sky''.

** It should also be noted that the moon reflects sunlight, so it could still work in that regard.

* Unlike {{m|Morning Sun}}, {{p|Espeon}}'s [[signature move]] in Generation II, Moonlight was not learnable only by Umbreon. However, because of Espeon's association with that move, Moonlight can still be considered Umbreon's equivalent move; indeed they occupy similar positions in each Pokémon's moveset.

Trivia

  • Unlike Morning Sun, Espeon's signature move in Generation II, Moonlight was not learnable only by Umbreon. However, because of Espeon's association with that move, Moonlight can still be considered Umbreon's equivalent move; indeed they occupy similar positions in each Pokémon's moveset.
