In Japan, it was first released as a promotional card with different artwork by [[Ken Sugimori]] distributed alongside {{TCG ID|CoroCoro|Brock's Onix|Promo}} in the March 1998 issue of [[CoroCoro]] comic. It was later included in the {{TCG|Hanada City Gym}} theme deck and {{TCG|Leaders' Stadium}} expansion with the artwork used on the English print.
This card was also released as a promotional card with different artwork, also by Ken Sugimori. In Japan, it came with the March 1998 issue of [[CoroCoro]] comic. This variant card was never released in English.

This card was released in the Gym Challenge expansion with artwork by Ken Sugimori. In Japan, it was first released as a promotional card with different artwork by Ken Sugimori distributed alongside Brock's Onix in the March 1998 issue of CoroCoro comic. It was later included in the Hanada City Gym theme deck and Leaders' Stadium expansion with the artwork used on the English print.
