Misty's Azurill (Japanese: カスミのルリリ Kasumi's Ruriri) is a Pokémon which was acquired by Misty shortly before Ash entered the Battle Frontier in the Pokémon anime.
History
Azurill is the child of Tracey's Marill, though it is unknown which Pokémon was the other parent. Misty mentions that Tracey gave it to her when it was just an Egg.
Azurill has only been seen briefly, during the episodes between The Scheme Team and A Real Cleffa-Hanger. In the first episode, it was only seen at the very end where it was shown that Misty carries it in her arms in the same way as she carried her Togepi.
In the next episode, it battled Team Rocket along with other Marill. It interacts very well with other Pokémon, most notably a wild Cleffa.
Personality and characteristics
Despite being small it was able to destroy the Team Rocket's machine along with its parent as shown in The Right Place and the Right Mime. Misty always carries in her arms like she did with Togepi. Azurill is also very sociable, playful, very friendly, and helpful as seen when it was playing with a wild Cleffa and healed Pikachu by using Refresh.

Trivia
- Azurill was seen using more moves than its parent, Marill.
- Azurill is the first baby Pokémon that is a pre-evolution of a Pokémon released in an earlier generation to be hatched from an Egg in the anime — all prior Eggs hatched are Pokémon that evolve into Pokémon released in the same or later generations, while the other baby Pokémon like Munchlax, Mime Jr. and Bonsly, were caught from the wild rather than hatched by their Trainers. The only other Pokémon to share this trait is Brock's Happiny.
- Azurill is the first anime Pokémon confirmed to be hatched from an Egg whose Egg hasn't been seen.
- Azurill is the only Pokémon that Misty currently owns that isn't a Water-type, though its evolutions are.
