Minun (Japanese: マイナン Minun) is an Electric Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

While it not known to evolve into or from any Pokémon, it does however seem to be related to Plusle.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, but can be thought as a counterpart to Plusle. Minun, along with Plusle, is one of the two Partner Pokémon available at the beginning of the Pokémon Ranger.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Minun is a cream-colored bipedal Pokémon with blue markings. It has a dot-like nose and a cream-colored minus sign in the middle of its circular blue cheeks. It has long, flat ears that are mostly blue. Its limbs are stubby and digitless, and it has blue front paws. Its short tail is tipped with a blue minus sign.
Minun are mostly a shade of cream with blue accentuations. The accentuations of blue are apparent on its large ears, cheeks, forepaws, and tail-tip. Minun have a creamed colored bobtail, tipped with a blue minus sign. Minun have a dot-like nose, and a cream colored minus sign voids in the middle of their circular blue cheeks.

Minun cares more for its teammates than itself, sending off showers of sparks when it cheers for them. When its partner is in trouble, it gives off increasing amounts of sparks. It can create electric pom-poms for cheering. Its electrical current promotes blood circulation and energizes its target. It lives in List of Pokémon by habitat. However, it will hide under the eaves of houses when it rains due to its dislike of water. Minun is often seen together with Plusle.

Gender differences
Prior to Generation V, Minun was the only known Pokémon that could have Minus as an Ability.
None.

Special abilities
In the anime
Minun creates electrical pom-poms and sparks to cheer on its partners.

Major appearances
Minun debuted alongside Plusle in A Different Kind of Misty!. Both Pokémon were owned by Thatcher, who was responsible for protecting a lighthouse. In Cheer Pressure, Thatcher was training them to be cheerleaders. Both were often seen outside of their Poké Balls.

Minun's stats are geared towards defense whereas Plusle's stats are offense-oriented. Minun's movepool is nearly identical to Plusle, except that Minun learns Charm and Trump Card and lacks Last Resort.
In Lights, Camerupt, Action!, a Minun starred with Plusle in a film Elijah directed. In the film, they and Pikachu set out to rescue Princess Kirlia from an evil Exploud.

Apparently, simultaneous exposure to electricity from a Plusle and Minun will promote circulation and boost vitality.
In Destiny Deoxys, a Minun and Plusle served as the movie's comic relief. The pair helped Tory Lund to overcome his fear of Pokémon. Both briefly reappeared in a montage in The Rise of Darkrai, which chronicled the preceding nine movies.

Behavior
In Yes in Dee Dee, It's Dawn! and Playing the Performance Encore!, Ursula owns a Minun and Plusle. In Last Call — First Round!, they tried to embarrass Dawn before an interview with Rhonda but failed. It reappeared with Plusle and their Trainer in the ending credits of Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
Minun is a cheerful and supportive Pokémon, always encouraging comrades in battle by using the spark pouches in its cheeks. It is very compassionate towards its friends, and is known to cry upon witnessing a friend lose a battle. They are commonly referred to as cheerleaders for these actions. Also, it seems to enjoy battling with a Plusle. If a friend is losing a battle, sparks will fly out of its cheeks.

Habitat
A Minun appeared in Searching for Service with a Smile!, under the ownership of Devi.

Minun first appeared alongside Plusle in A Different Kind of Misty!. Both Pokémon were owned by Thatcher, who is responsible for protecting a lighthouse. The same Minun and Plusle appear again in Cheer Pressure, where Thatcher is training them to be cheerleaders.

In Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade, a Minun watched Meloetta's concert.

In Performing with Fiery Charm!, a Performer's Minun competed in the Dendemille Town Showcase with a Plusle. In A Performance Pop Quiz!, they competed in the Anistar City Showcase. In Master Class is in Session!, it competed in the Master Class Showcase in Gloire City.

Minun and Plusle also appear as supporting characters in the film Destiny Deoxys, serving as the story's comic relief. The pair helps Tory Lund to overcome his fear of Pokémon.
In Pikachu and the Pokémon Music Squad, a Minun was living in the forest.

Another Minun appeared in Yes, in Dee Dee It's Dawn! and Playing the Performance Encore! alongside its counterpart under the ownership of Ursula. Also, in the same episode one appeared along with a Plusle in Dawn's flashback when she confessed that as a child, she had a fear of both of them.

* Minun shares the same species name with its partner Plusle. They are both known as Cheering Pokémon.
* Minun shares its category with its partner Plusle. They are both known as the Cheering Pokémon.
* Minun is considered by many fans to be a novelty Pokémon due to its general weakness unless it's paired in battle with a Pokémon which has Plus. It is likely it was created to showcase the Double Battle system introduced in its generation.
* Minun and Plusle share the same base stat total, although the stat distribution is different, with Plusle being more offense-oriented and Minun being more defense-oriented.
* Minun and Plusle have the same base stats, although the stat distribution is different.
* Minun's first major appearance in the anime was in episode 312, the same number as its position in the National Pokédex.
* Unused text in Colosseum suggests that a Shadow Minun was going to appear in the game.
* In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there are several files for Unused content (SSBB)#Characters. One of these files is named "Pra_Mai", leading some players to speculate that Plusle and Minun were considered to appear as a tag team, like Ice Climbers (SSBB).

Minun (Japanese: マイナン Minun) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, but can be thought as a counterpart to Plusle. Minun, along with Plusle, is one of the two Partner Pokémon available at the beginning of the Pokémon Ranger.

Biology

Minun is a cream-colored bipedal Pokémon with blue markings. It has a dot-like nose and a cream-colored minus sign in the middle of its circular blue cheeks. It has long, flat ears that are mostly blue. Its limbs are stubby and digitless, and it has blue front paws. Its short tail is tipped with a blue minus sign.

Minun cares more for its teammates than itself, sending off showers of sparks when it cheers for them. When its partner is in trouble, it gives off increasing amounts of sparks. It can create electric pom-poms for cheering. Its electrical current promotes blood circulation and energizes its target. It lives in grasslands and savannas. However, it will hide under the eaves of houses when it rains due to its dislike of water. Minun is often seen together with Plusle.

Prior to Generation V, Minun was the only known Pokémon that could have Minus as an Ability.

Trivia

 • Minun shares its category with its partner Plusle. They are both known as the Cheering Pokémon.
 • Minun and Plusle share the same base stat total, although the stat distribution is different, with Plusle being more offense-oriented and Minun being more defense-oriented.
 • Minun's first major appearance in the anime was in episode 312, the same number as its position in the National Pokédex.
 • Unused text in Pokémon Colosseum suggests that a Shadow Minun was going to appear in the game.
 • In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there are several files for unused playable characters. One of these files is named "Pra_Mai", leading some players to speculate that Plusle and Minun were considered to appear as a tag team, like Ice Climbers.

Origin

Minun appears to be based on a cheerleading mouse, chipmunk, or rabbit. It could also be the incarnation of a negative electric charge.

Name origin

Minun may be derived from minus, possibly in reference to negative electrical charge. It may also include bun or bunny
