This card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection reprint sets, which were only released outside of Japan.

Trivia

Early print runs of the translated version of the card had the HP read "HP 70" instead of "70 HP".

Origin

Stiffen is similar to Harden, a move in the Pokémon games that Metapod can learn. Stun Spore comes directly from the games, but Metapod can not learn it. The card's flavor text comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded.
