McDonald's Collection (TCG): Difference between revisions

The McDonalds Collection (Japanese: コレクションシート Journey Partners Collection Sheets) are a collection of cards released in North American McDonald's Happy Meals for a limited time in 2011, from June 17 to July 7. In Japan, the collection was the first BW era release of Pokémon trading cards. Released on September 18th, 2010, each collection sheet costs 280 yen. Originally, the Journey Partners Collection Sheets were themed around the three starters of the fifth generation: Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott; and each contained three cards. The nine total cards featured one from each type, and all the cards were holographic with artwork done by Ken Sugimori. However, when they were released in English, the collection added in three additional cards: Maractus, Alomomola, and Audino, for a total of twelve cards. There were also 8 toys that came with 1 card each, based on Pikachu, Oshawott, Tepig, Snivy, Zorua, Zoroark, Zekrom, and Reshiram.

Notes

In the Canadian province of Québec, the collection was only available in French, making it the only TCG collection in the province to be released as such (previous promotional cards, such as the POP sets, had been in English). This was despite the fact that the cards were not translated into other European languages and released in European countries (including France) at that point.
