McCauley

McCauley (Japanese: リュウタ Ryūta ) is the character of the day in A Chip Off The Old Brock. He is voiced by Billy Regan in English and 内埜則之 Noriyuki Uchino in Japanese.

McCauley works with Cadee and Mariah at a pharmacy where they make potion from electricity. He was having a hard time getting the potions right. He would stay up late at night with his Ampharos just trying to perfect it. He's always strived to be as good as Cadee, ever since he and Mariah were little. Cadee explained that McCauley needed to have more confidence in himself.

Later Mariah gets taken away, along with the whole pharmacy, by Team Rocket who want all the medicine for themselves to sell. McCauley jumps into the flying pharmacy in order to save her and the medicine. Brock attempts to help out be using Marshtomp's Mud Shot to shoot down the balloon but Team Rocket reflects it back and the Mud Shot ends up hurting Ash's Pikachu and Cadee's Mareep. They needed the potion to make them better and fast. That when both McCauley and Mariah decide to use there Ampharos and Flaaffy, respectively, to make a new batch of medice. Afterwards they use their Pokémon to kill the engines on Team Rocket's balloon causing it to crash.

After Team Rocket was defeated, Cadee felt confident enough to leave the pharmacy to McCauley and Mariah.

• McCauley's Japanese name, Ryūta, may be intended to be a play on Ampharos's Japanese name, Denryu.
