The Magma Stone (Japanese: かざんのおきいし Volcano Stone) is an item in the Generation IV games. It cannot be obtained without the use of a cheating device such as an Action Replay.

The Magma Stone is found at Stark Mountain. During normal gameplay, it is not available, and Buck (Diamond and Pearl) or Charon (Platinum) takes it. In Diamond and Pearl, Buck returns it after receiving advice from his grandfather, while in Platinum, Charon is arrested and Looker, instead, absentmindedly takes it, only to have it put back by Buck.

The purpose of the Magma Stone is revealed, in Platinum, to be similar to the Red Chain's purpose: to control the Pokémon of Stark Mountain.

The player is able to battle and catch Heatran after the Magma Stone is placed back by Buck.
