The Story Select screen

Pokémon Conquest is divided in many stories, including the main story. After the main story is completed, the option to play several side stories open up. Each story focuses on a particular Warlord. Different stories have different completion requirements, ranging from uniting the entire region to amassing a certain number of Warriors in the Warlord's army.

Unite Ransei

Each of these stories requires the player to unite Ransei under a certain Warlord, much like the main game.

Happily Ever After

Junior Warlord Competition

The playable participants in the Junior Warlord Competition

In these stories, the focus is on a competition between the junior Warlords of Ransei. Since the senior Warlords of each kingdom are not allowed to participate, they do not appear for the duration of the episode. Furthermore, the starting kingdom of every participants will be random.

The Way of the Warrior

Befriend 100 Pokémon

These stories took place after the player united Ransei during the main storyline. Each of these stories requires the player to gather 100 or more Pokémon into their army. This can be done either through linking with wild Pokémon or by recruiting Warriors. Even if the player united all of Ransei, the story will not be cleared until player completed their objective. Furthermore, Hideyoshi, Kotarō, and Nobunaga will be absent from these stories with Kanbei, Keiji, and Oichi taking their place as Warlords of Ignis, Yaksha, and Dragnor, respectively.

The Burden of Peace

Recruit 40 Warlords

Similar to stories to befriend 100 Pokémon, these stories took place after the player united Ransei during the main story line. Kotarō and Nobunaga will be absent from these stories with Keiji and Oichi taking their place as Warlords of Yaksha and Dragnor, respectively. At the beginning Kenshin and Shingen's army holds three kingdoms each, with Kenshin holds Illusio, Avia, and Valora while Shingen holds Terrera, Pugilis, and Ignis. These stories require the player to gather a total of 40 or more Warriors into their army.

That Which He Holds Dear

These two stories depict a competition between Kenshin and Shingen to be the first to win 5 battles over their opponent. Each Warlord begins with half of Ransei under their control (Shingen with the western half, Kenshin with the eastern half).

Ransei's Greatest Beauty

The participants in the Beauty Competition

The female Warlords of the region hold a competition to determine who the region's greatest beauty is. The competition takes place in the middle of the region, with only seven nations being used for battle. Notably, every single Warlord and Warrior in these stories will be female (with the exception of Ranmaru, who ends up being forced into the competition after he is mistaken for a girl).

Defeat Nobunaga

Both of these stories require the player to defeat Nobunaga's army, which has spread throughout all but the westernmost sections of Ransei. Each story has a time restriction of 3 in-game years; if the player fails to beat Nobunaga within this time, they fail the story.

Tragic Determination

Ninja Competition

The ninja Warlords of Ransei

These stories all focus on a competition held between the four ninja Warlords of Ransei. It takes place in the eastern part of Ransei. Each Warlord starts off with two nations under their control. The player must conquer all eight of the eastern nations to clear the story.

A Shroud of Darkness

Not Worth Fighting Over

Mitsunari, Kiyomasa, and Masanori

These stories focus on a feud between Mitsunari, Kiyomasa, and Masanori. Each episode takes place in the southwest section of Ransei. Each of the three Warlords take a nation (Mitsunari controls Ignis, Kiyomasa controls Greenleaf, and Masanori controls Fontaine; Oichi controls Aurora). The player must conquer all four nations in order to clear the story. Notably, Mitsunari, Kiyomasa, and Masanori can't be recruited in anyway even if the recruitment requirements are fulfilled with a special Warrior.

Two Heroes of Ransei

This story is much slimier to stories that requires the player to unite Ransei, yet some changes had undergone to show significant difference. It was a challenge for both the player and Nobunaga from the rest of the Warlords in Ransei after the player had united Ransei the first time during the main storyline. In this story all kingdom facilities are automatically upgraded to level 3 and all rival Warlords (not junior Warriors) start with Rank II and their Pokémon in their final evolved form. Notably, Nonunaga will join the player's forces at the very beginning and entrusted Ranmaru as the Warlord of Dragnor. This story is the only chance to promote player into Rank III as well as linking with Arceus.

Two Heroes of Ransei
