Revision as of 02:01, 20 September 2010

Many Pokémon have two types, rather than just one. The complex nature in which types can be arranged means there are a possible 289 different type combinations. However, due to the games' advantage/disadvantage multiplication system, a Pokémon which is Dark/Ghost is treated the same as one that is Ghost/Dark. As such, there are distinct 153 type combinations.

While many of these combinations are actually quite common (sometimes even more so than Pokémon of single types), there are several Pokémon which have type combinations unique to either their species or their evolutionary family. These unique Pokémon are listed below.

For the purposes of this list, type combinations are considered commutative; that is to say, Spiritomb and Sableye would be treated as having the same type combination as they have the same weaknesses and resistances.

Trivia

  • There are 21 different species of Pokémon who do not have the same type combination as another.
  • Template:Type2 is the only type which has unique type combinations that has one with it as its only type.
  • Many Pokémon gain their unique typing as part of evolution and, as a result, some of those featured here are not featured with their pre-evolutions. However, Surskit is the only Pokémon on this list whose evolution is not featured with it.
