Giovanni had ordered Jessie and James to dig for clams on the beach of {{an|Seafoam Island}}. James hit something with his shovel, and yanked it out of the ground, revealing it to be a Shellder. James was going to throw a {{i|Poké Ball}} at it, but Jessie beat him to it, capturing Shellder. James complained about this, as it was his Weezing that weakened the Shellder. Later on, Jessie and James attempted to steal all the Pokémon at [[Professor Westwood V]]'s lab, but found that all he had was a {{p|Slowpoke}}. In the hopes that a Slowbro would prove more valuable to Giovanni, Jessie sent out Shellder and ordered it to {{m|clamp}} down on Slowpoke's tail. However, Westwood's Slowpoke avoided the Shellder with a truly surprising amount of speed. After some misdirected Clamps (including {{TP|Misty|Psyduck}}'s head and tail, the former enabling Psyduck to remove the Bivalve Pokémon with {{m|Confusion}}), Shellder finally clamped down on Slowpoke's tail, causing it to evolve into Slowbro. Pokémon temporarily owned by James
James's sixth overall Pokémon; in Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid, James was forced into trading his old Victreebel for a Weepinbell by Jessie and Meowth after the Magikarp salesman cons them by saying they can use its Sweet Scent to capture Pokémon.
Later in the episode, this Weepinbell evolves into Victreebel (incorrectly without a Leaf Stone), and it tries to gobble Jessie (much like the previous Victreebel often did with James). This causes her to command her Arbok to send the Flycatcher Pokémon flying. At the same time, the Magikarp salesman realizes that James's original Victreebel does not obey him, and he kicks it away. The two Victreebel later meet, fall in love, and skip off into the forest. Victreebel's known moves are Sweet Scent, Razor Leaf, and Vine Whip.

James bought Hoppip from the Magikarp salesman in Who's Flying Now?. It was painted to look like a Chimecho, which James had wanted since he was a child. James recognized the salesman, but he was able to convince James that he had turned over a new leaf and is now an honest person. Believing him, James bought the Hoppip in disguise.
When he showed it to Jessie and Meowth, they were less than impressed with the Chimecho. Meowth immediately realized it was a fake, and when it started falling apart, James rubbed it with a rag. All the paint came off, and the Chimecho was revealed to be a fake. Before James could attempt to capture it, the Hoppip floated away, never to be seen again. None of Hoppip's moves are known.

Pikachu is one of the Pokémon owned by the Pokémon League entrance exam instructor. Its appearance was during the final portion of the exam.
James sent it out to battle the instructor's Graveler, at which James was overjoyed, exclaiming that he had been destroyed by Ash's Pikachu's attacks so many times that he knew them all by heart. However, Pikachu's Thunderbolt had no effect on the Graveler, at which James sent out Ivysaur and Charizard, and subsequently was expelled on the spot. He later used Pikachu to attack the instructor with Thunder, but the instructor told Ivysaur, Charizard, and Pikachu to attack Team Rocket instead. Pikachu's known moves are Thunderbolt and Thunder.

The battle was ended when Max discovered that the two Trainers were indeed Team Rocket in disguise. With the help of Forrest, Team Rocket were sent blasting off and Pewter Gym was safe. At the end of the day, Delibird returned and took the two Pokémon back, as the Charizard and Aggron were originally intended for Cassidy and Butch, respectively. Porygon, also called "Porygon Zero", was a prototype created by Dr. Akihabara and stolen by Team Rocket. Ash and his friends borrowed a non-prototype Porygon to go inside the computer world to fix a virus. When they encountered the trio, Jessie sent out Porygon to battle Ash and his friends, complete with its own "TR" flag on its tail. It tried its best but failed to defeat the non-prototype Porygon.
When the vaccine was released by Nurse Joy, one of its missiles hit Team Rocket, knocking Porygon unconscious. Porygon and Team Rocket were rescued from the vaccine with the help of Ash, his Bulbasaur, and the non-prototype Porygon, allowing them to escape into the real world. When fleeing from Dr. Akihabara's ruined house, Team Rocket left Porygon behind for reasons unknown. Porygon Zero's only known move is Tackle.

Jessie's third overall Pokémon; Shellder's only appearance was in The Evolution Solution. Giovanni had ordered Jessie and James to dig for clams on the beach of Seafoam Island. James hit something with his shovel, and yanked it out of the ground, revealing it to be a Shellder. James sent out his Weezing to battle it. Shellder hit hard with Ice Beam, while Weezing knocked it out with Haze. James was going to throw a Poké Ball at it, but Jessie beat him to it, capturing Shellder. James complained about this, as it was his Weezing that weakened the Shellder. Later on, Jessie and James attempted to steal all the Pokémon at Professor Westwood V's lab, but found that all he had was a Slowpoke. In the hopes that a Slowbro would prove more valuable to Giovanni, Jessie sent out Shellder and ordered it to clamp down on Slowpoke's tail. However, Westwood's Slowpoke avoided the Shellder with a truly surprising amount of speed. After some misdirected Clamps (including Psyduck's head and tail, the former enabling Psyduck to remove the Bivalve Pokémon with Confusion), Shellder finally clamped down on Slowpoke's tail, causing it to evolve into Slowbro. Team Rocket tried to steal it, but Slowbro sent them blasting off with Mega Punch (after using Amnesia to temporarily forget it). After this episode, neither Shellder nor the Slowbro were seen again.

Magikarp's only appearance came in Pearls are a Spoink's Best Friend. After stealing Spoink's pearl, Team Rocket came across the Magikarp salesman who convinced Jessie to trade the pearl for what he claimed to be a Feebas. Jessie was reluctant at first until the salesman explained to her that Feebas evolve into Milotic, after which Jessie eagerly made the trade, despite the protests of James and Meowth.
Later, Team Rocket was seen at a lake letting Jessie's "Feebas" swim around in a stream. The paint started to run, and soon it was revealed that the Feebas was actually a Magikarp. This discovery infuriated Jessie, and Team Rocket sought out the salesman to demand a refund. When they found the salesman, Ash and his friends were already there. A battle between Cacnea and Dustox against Pikachu and Spoink ensued, during which the salesman escaped, and Magikarp was completely lost track of. Team Rocket was defeated in the end and the pearl was returned to Spoink. The Magikarp has never been seen again. None of Magikarp's moves are known.

Worked with
Delibird first appeared in Dues and Don'ts under the ownership of a Rocket Scout. She claimed that she and the Delibird were trying to recruit new members for Team Rocket. When Jessie and James told her that they were Team Rocket members, she said that they weren't in the system. James pulled out his membership card, and the scout informed them that because they hadn't paid any of their dues, they had been kicked out of Team Rocket. The scout then told them that if they defeated a Trainer, they would be allowed back in. Using Delibird, Team Rocket battled Ash, and despite the fact that he won, the scout allowed them to rejoin. But she also told them that her Delibird would be following them around to collect their dues that they had still not paid. While it appears the Delibird has stopped pestering the trio for their dues, it still appears from time to time as a courier, as seen in Grating Spaces! and The Thief That Keeps on Thieving!.
