Lilycove City (Japanese: ミナモシティ Minamo City) is one of the sixteen cities of Hoenn, the land in which the games Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald take place. Lilycove is located southeast of Fortree, near the sea. The western entrance of the city is Route 121, leading to Mt. Pyre and the Safari Zone. To the east is Route 124, the open sea, and either Team Aqua or Team Magma's base.

Places of Interest

Pokémon Contest Hall

A major feature in Lilycove is the Master Rank Contest Hall. It is located in the southern half of the city, south of the Pokémon Center and west of the Cove Lily Motel. A sign outside reads:

POKéMON CONTESTS
MASTER RANK REGISTRATION
"Enter CONTESTS with your friends!"

POKéMON CONTEST HALL
"The gathering place for TRAINERS!"

In Pokémon Emerald, all of the Pokémon Contests take place in Lilycove. Prizewinning trainers and Pokémon flock to Lilycove from all over the country.

Cove Lily Motel

The Cove Lily Motel is a motel in Lilycove. It is located east of the Contest Hall. A sign outside reads:

COVE LILY MOTEL
"Remember us as COVE LILY of
LILYCOVE."

The Game Freak development staff can be found upstairs as guests at the motel. Upon completion of the Hoenn Pokédex, the player will receive a diploma after speaking to the Game Designer.

Pokémon Trainer Fan Club

Fans at the Pokémon Trainer Fan Club discuss popular Pokémon Trainers and Gym Leaders. A sign outside reads:

POKéMON TRAINER FAN CLUB
The names of TRAINERS are scribbled all over the sign...

Lilycove Museum

Northern Lilycove is home to the Lilycove Museum, where fine art and paintings are on display. The museum is located west of the Lilycove Department Store. A sign outside reads:

LILYCOVE MUSEUM
"POKéMON Masterpiece Collection
on exhibit!"

An art dealer is often seen walking around the entrance.

Lilycove Department Store

Main article: Lilycove Department Store

Adjacent to the museum is the Lilycove Department Store, the largest store in Hoenn. A sign outside reads:

LILYCOVE DEPARTMENT STORE
"Overflowing with great merchandise
and excitement!
"A great place to find that something
you need!"

It is similar to stores in Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh.

Lilycove City Harbor

The wharf is a large seaside building located on the southernmost extent of the city's headland, southwest of the Pokémon Contest Hall. A sign outside reads:

LILYCOVE CITY HARBOR
"Enjoy a delightful cruise on
the ferry S.S. TIDAL."

From here, players may catch the S.S. Tidal and travel to Slateport City and either the Battle Tower if in Ruby and Sapphire or the Battle Frontier in Emerald.

Move Deleter's House

Similar to previous regions, Lilycove features a Move Deleter. He lives next to the Lilycove Department Store. A sign outside reads:

MOVE DELETER'S HOUSE
"Unwanted POKéMON moves deleted."

Demographics

The population of Lilycove City is 71, making it by far the largest city in Hoenn, and the second biggest in the Pokémon world. This number is only 6 behind Johto's Goldenrod City, which is the biggest in the franchise. However, with such features as the Museum, the Department store and the Pokémon Contests, many of the people in the town may not actually be residents.
