Lickilicky (Japanese: ベロベルト Berobelt) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon. It is the evolved form of Lickitung.

Biology

Lickilicky is one of several Pokémon of Generation IV that evolve from a Pokémon from a previous generation, Lickitung. It does so when it knows the move Rollout and levels up, but only in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Physiology

Much like it pre-evolution, Lickilicky is fat in appearance. However, it is slightly darker in skin tone. It has a small tail and a long tongue. It has a yellow line pattern on its belly and a white bib like pattern.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

Lickilicky can learn Explosion, meaning that it is the only Template:Type2 Pokémon (besides Smeargle through its unique Sketch move) that can learn Explosion and receive a same-type attack bonus from it as well.

Behavior

Habitat

Lickilicky live in forests with a large body of water, like Lickitung.

Trivia

  • Lickilicky would have been obtainable in both Generation II and Generation III if it had existed, as in both there was a possible way to get a Lickitung that had Rollout. It shares this trait with Mamoswine.
  • In the tenth Pokémon movie, Lickilicky's trainer, Baron Alberto, has his name very similar to Lickilicky's Japanese name, "Beroberto". His first name, "Baron," has an "n" added to the end, and the "e" changed to an "a". "Alberto" is just an addition of "Al" to the beginning of "Berto."

Origin

It appears to be based on a blue-tongued skink.

Name origin

Lickilicky's name is simply a repetition of the word lick.

Its Japanese name may be a combination of ベロ bero, tongue, べろべろ, berobero, an onomatopoeia for a licking sound, べろべろ嘗める beroberonameru, to lick up with one's tongue, and べろっと berotto, licking or sticking out one's tongue.

Its German name, Schlurplek, comes from Schlurp and lecken. Its French name, Coudlangue, comes from coup de langue.
