Sometime after Colress took control of Lauder's Haxorus, Lauder ran to where Haxorus was and tried convincing it to stop by explaining that it was destroying the city, but Haxorus did not care and continued its destructive purposes. He bumped into Ash and his friends, and introduced himself as Haxorus's Trainer. Lauder then explained that Haxorus was normally calm and friendly. Ever since then, it would not listen to Lauder. Iris tried resolving the situation by having Dragonite use Ice Beam but became unsuccessful and Dragonite too became controlled by Colress.

After a Shadow Ball coming from Aldith's Liepard went astray, Haxorus went back to normal and Lauder recalled it back into its Poké Ball. Suddenly, a fog appeared, surrounding Ash and his friends, and Lauder walked off, surprised that the group disappeared.
