Lapras is a non-player character in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness. He is first seen as a silhouette in a cut-scene talking to Wigglytuff after saving Chatot's life when he shielded Wigglytuff from a Kabutops and two Omanyte, asking him not to investigate the strange pattern in Brine Cave. The night before the guild explores Brine Cave, Wigglytuff tells Lapras that he can no longer keep his promise due to time spinning out of control and because the strange pattern is the key to saving the world. When the player and their partner explore Brine Cave with the other Guild members, they meet Lapras and show him the Relic Fragment. He then takes the player and partner to the Hidden Land. After the defeat of Primal Dialga and the restoration of Temporal Tower, Lapras can be seen on the beach waiting to ferry the player and partner back to the Hidden Land at their desire.
