In Japan, this card was available as an insert in the February 2003 issue of CoroCoro magazine, released in January 2003. It was later reprinted as a Holofoil card and given to those who participated in the card exchange featured in the same publication. The English release of this card was distributed in the October 2003 issue of Nintendo Power magazine. In Australia, the card was distributed in an issue of the kids magazine, K-Zone. All of these promotions were released alongside Groudon ex.
