Kricketune (Japanese: コロトック Korotok) is a Bug-type Pokémon.

Biology

Physiology

Kricketune is a red cricket that resembles a conductor. It has a mustache, two small feet, black wings, and scythes for hands (compare with Scyther). It has three black dots on its body and two baige stripes running down its body.

A female has a shorter moustache.

It can make music by rubbing its arms together.

Trivia

  • Unlike most evolved Pokémon, it is far more common in the wild than its pre-evolution. It can also be found during the daytime, unlike its pre-evolution.
  • Kricketune is the only fully evolved pure Bug-type Pokémon.

Origin

Kricketune appears to be based on a violin beetle.

Name origin

Its name comes from cricket and tune. Its Japanese name may come from 蟋蟀 koorogi, cricket, and a corruption of 曲 kyoku, tune.
