Kosaku Anakubo has two pet cats, Chinmi and Aiya. There are many references to his cats' names in early chapters of the manga.
The first Pokémon manga in the works was Kousaku Anakubo's classical gag manga, ''Pocket Monsters''. The manga later became the most famous Pokémon story in all of Japan. It was constantly featured in [[CoroCoro]] (COCO) as the volumes were released. The manga features young boy named [[Isamu Akai]] (better known as "[[Red]]") Today, the manga has become two different stories featuring the same character's journeys throughout the Hoenn region ([[Pocket Monsters RS]] and Sinnoh region ([[Pocket Monsters DP]]).

Kosaku Anakubo (穴久保幸作 Anakubo Kosaku), born April 18th, 1957, is the creator of the manga series Pokémon Pocket Monsters and its sequels: Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire, Pocket Monsters DP, Pocket Monsters HGSS, Pocket Monsters BW and Pocket Monsters XY.
