Kitty (Japanese: ピーすけ Piisuke), known as Freesk in Chuang Yi's translation of the FireRed & LeafGreen arc, is one of the Pokémon that Yellow has in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

History

Kitty as a Caterpie‎

Kitty first appeared in Celadon City as a wild Caterpie, where he was rescued by Yellow from the flames of Blaine's Growlithe which was attacking Agatha's Gastly. After the Gastly was defeated by Blue, Kitty began following Yellow all the way to the eastern Cerulean Mountains. After managing to catch up with her, Yellow spent an entire day attempting to catch him, her Ratty evolving in the process.

Kitty as a Metapod, defending Yellow

Initially, she used Red's Pokédex to keep Kitty from evolving, as she did with all her Pokémon following the shock of Ratty's evolution. Later, in the final battle against Lance, after Yellow had lost the Pokédex, Kitty evolves into a Metapod to shield Yellow from a Hyper Beam then immediately into a Butterfree at the same time as all of Yellow's other Pokémon. As a Butterfree, he carried her aloft, allowing her to conduct an aerial battle during the final confrontation with Lance on and above the back of the legendary Pokémon.

Since then, Kitty has been used mainly for aerial transport and hasn't been seen in major combat since.
