Kazunari traveled to [[Sinnoh]] with Kotone and his father where they all took part in the Johto Festa. He wanted to visit Sinnoh so that he could observe and hopefully catch the native Pokémon. He was also interested in learning about [[Pokémon breeding]] and asked if [[Brock]] would mentor him.

Khoury debuted in ''[[DP143|An Egg Scramble!]]'', where he traveled to [[Sinnoh]] with {{an|Lyra}} and [[Khoury's father|his father]] to take part in the [[Johto Festival]]. He wanted to visit Sinnoh so that he could observe and hopefully catch the {{cat|Generation IV Pokémon|resident Pokémon}}. He was also interested in learning about [[Pokémon breeding]] and asked if {{an|Brock}} would mentor him.


Kazunari can be described as a bit of a klutz and tends to panic very easily. But he is always very excited to meet a new Pokémon. In [[DP145]], after encountering a wild {{p|Gible}} Kazunari became determined to capture it, which he eventually did after a closely-fought competition with {{Ash}} who had the same goal.  
In ''[[DP145|A Rivalry to Gible On!]]'', after encountering a {{pkmn2|wild}} {{p|Gible}}, Khoury became determined to {{pkmn2|caught|catch}} it to raise it into "an awesome {{p|Gabite}}", which he eventually did after a closely-fought competition with {{Ash}}, who had the same goal.  


In [[DP147]], he had a [[tag battle]] with {{an|Kotone}} against {{Ash}} and {{an|Dawn}}. Despite his Totodile evolving into {{p|Croconaw}} during the match, he and Kotone eventually lost. At the end, Kazunari, his father, and Kotone left on a blimp headed to [[Johto]] and said their good-byes. Kazunari had also agreed to become Kotone's traveling buddy, upon her request.

[[DP145|Later]] Totodile was used to used to help track down a wild {{p|Gible}} that was attacking people near a [[Pokémon Center]]. After getting into a scuffle with {{AP|Buizel}}, Kazunari was eventually able to track it down and Totodile was able to match moves with Gible, wearing it down allowing Kazunari to capture it.

In [[DP147]] Totodile was used in the tag battle alongside Kotone's {{p|Chikorita}} against [[Ash's Monferno]] and {{an|Dawn}}'s {{TP|Dawn|Cyndaquil}}. In the heat to battle, Totodile evolved into a Croconaw. Despite the type-advantage it had, Croconaw was unable to stand up to Monferno's {{m|Mach Punch}} and was defeated.

Khoury (Japanese: カズナリ Kazunari) is a recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime. He is a Pokémon Breeder and a traveling partner of Lyra.

History

Khoury after catching a Pokémon

Khoury debuted in An Egg Scramble!, where he traveled to Sinnoh with Lyra and his father to take part in the Johto Festival. He wanted to visit Sinnoh so that he could observe and hopefully catch the resident Pokémon. He was also interested in learning about Pokémon breeding and asked if Brock would mentor him.

In A Rivalry to Gible On!, after encountering a wild Gible, Khoury became determined to catch it to raise it into "an awesome Gabite", which he eventually did after a closely-fought competition with Ash, who had the same goal.

In Bagged Then Tagged!, he had a Tag Battle with Lyra against Ash and Dawn. Despite his Totodile evolving into Croconaw during the match, he and Lyra eventually lost.
