Kelly

Kelly (Japanese: カナタ Kanata) is a Coordinator from the anime.

Kelly appeared in Pokéblock, Stock and Berry and Lessons in Lilycove. A resident of Lilycove City, she and May became fast friends, as well as rivals. Kelly's mom owns a Berry store, which May visited with Kelly. It was here that May learned how to make Pokéblock for the first time.

The two also faced off against each other in the Lilycove Contest. Using her Combusken, May got off to a bad start, but gradually made her way through the appeals round. Kelly, on the other hand, was very successful in making her way through. Eventually, Kelly faced off against May in the final round of the contest.

Her Grumpig battled hard, but it was no match for May's Template:Type2 Pokémon. May won the contest, and earned her third Ribbon.

Kelly was also seen very briefly at home watching the Hoenn Grand Festival on TV in Deceit and Assist.

Grumpig
Kelly's Grumpig first appeared in Pokéblock, Stock, and Berry, it is very well trained, normally seen outside its Poké Ball. When its owner was trying to haggle for Berries, she trips, but Grumpig uses Psychic to steady her and stop the berries falling from her grocery bag. Kelly then shows Ash, Brock May and Max to her mother, Otane's Pokéblock shop. Outside Team Rocket capture Grumpig, but with the help of May's Combusken and Beautifly they were able to send Team Rocket blasting off.

In Lessons in Lilycove, Grumpig is used in the Lilycove City Pokémon Contest, where in the Appeals Round it used its Psychic and Bounce to do an amazing trick with Pokéblock. Kelly got through along with May and Jessie (disguised) to the next round, Kelly and Grumpig made it to the finals knocking out worthy opponents including Jessie, it went up against May and her Combusken but lost earning May her third Ribbon.

Grumpig made a brief appearance in Deceit and Assist along with Kelly where they were watching May compete in the Hoenn Grand Festival.

Its known attacks are Psychic, Bounce and Iron Tail.
