Kato (left) and Kiko

Kato (Japanese: カンタ Kanta) is one of the two characters Ash and his friends meet in the beginning of the third Diamond & Pearl series Pokémon movie, Arceus and the Jewel of Life. Kato, along with Kiko, battled with Ash and Dawn for the watermelons and also introduced Ash and his friends the idea of seeing the ruins of their town. As Ash and his friends return from the corrected past, with Arceus subsequently recognizing Ash from the past events and restoring the destruction, Kato and Kiko can be seen by a bridge witnessing the regeneration of the bridge's structure. Kato and Kiko also make a brief appearance in the credits when they are seen eating corn on the back of a tractor.
