Route 12 (Japanese: 12番道路 Route 12) is a route in northern Kalos, connecting Shalour City, Coumarine City, and Azure Bay. The route is also known as Fourrage Road (Japanese: フラージュ通り Fourrage Road). This route is the location of Baa de Mer Ranch, where several Skiddo can be ridden on. The Skiddo can be used to access areas of the route that are blocked by fences or ledges.
Route description
Route 12 is divided apart by a body of water, requiring Surf to get across and thus preventing the player from advancing past it until they've beaten Korrina. Near the Shalour City gate stands a Pokémon Breeder, who, after the player has earned the Rumble Badge, will give them his Lapras as a gift. The other side of the route is decorated by fields of grass and yellow flowers.
Baa de Mer Ranch
- Main article: Baa de Mer Ranch
Baa de Mer Ranch is a ranch dedicated solely for Skiddo. The player can ride a Skiddo to access areas beyond otherwise unsurpassable ledges. A part of the ranch fence is broken down, allowing the player to ride Skiddo on the main route as well. While riding a Skiddo, the player cannot encounter wild Pokémon, interact with NPCs or signs, use field moves, or use items like the Dowsing Machine. Skiddo cannot be ridden outside of the route. It can be dismounted at any point, except for tall grass or flowers.
