Judgment (Japanese: さばきのつぶて Judgment Strike) or Judgement is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Arceus, and like Arceus, varies in type depending on the plate held by the user.

Effect

Judgment inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. The type of Judgment depends on the type of plate held by the user, being Normal-type if there is no held plate.

Trivia

  • Its name is derived from judgment, a concept within the Jewish belief that says that Yahweh casts judgment upon wicked people on earth.
  • Provided Arceus is wearing the Dread Plate, Judgment is the second-highest powered Dark-type move in the game, behind Fling using an Iron Ball at 130 power. In addition, when equipped with the Dread Plate, it is one of only two Special damage-dealing Dark-type moves, the other being Dark Pulse.
  • Due to the types of both Arceus and Judgement being determined by the plate held, Judgement always receive STAB, unless if Arceus is equipped with a plate while fighting a Pokémon with Normalize as it's ability.
