Release information

In Japan, this card was released as an insert with Easily Understand How to Play Pokémon Card (Asobikata Volume 1), released in October 1996. The early print termed Asobikata Jigglypuff was printed on regular card stock. It was later included with the November 1996 issue of CoroCoro Comic printed this time on glossy card stock. The English version of the card was released with a promotion in the Pokémon the First Movie soundtrack. A proof of purchase from the soundtrack had to be mailed in to receive the card.

Another version was from Japan but the card itself was in English. This card was printed on Japanese card stock. This card has the same black star promo symbol except for a few changes. The black star itself was instead grey and the word "Promo" was in gold lettering. Only the Jigglypuff and Pikachu shared these distinctions. It is still not known very well at this time how it was distributed and where it could have been obtained.

Trivia

Origin

Double-Edge is a move in the Pokémon games that Jigglypuff can learn. Its effect is similar to the attack on the card, as it is a damage-dealing move that deals recoil damage to the user.
