Janina (Japanese: コナツ Konatsu) is one of Jasmine's young apprentices at the Olivine Gym.
Janina appeared in several episodes of the anime. Her first appearance was in Fight for the Light!. She challenged Ash to a battle, but cheated by putting water-resistant polish on her Onix. After apologizing, she helped Ash and the others go to Cianwood City to help get medicine for Jasmine's sick Ampharos, Sparkle.
She also helped out during Jasmine and Ash's Gym battle in Nerves of Steelix!, acting as the referee. One of her dreams is to become a strong Pokémon Trainer, and Ash told her that he would eventually come back to battle her when she became stronger.

| Onix is Janina's only known Pokémon. It first appeared when Janina posed as Jasmine and battled Ash in a Gym battle which she cheated using a water resistant polish. Later when Team Rocket are causing havoc in the Glitter Lighthouse, Onix sees the smoke caused by Weezing, so she decides to go and investigate. She finds Team Rocket in there balloon, Jessie orders Arbok to use Poison Sting which Onix deflects. Team Rocket try to escape by sea where Onix can't go. Onix goes on the tsunami barriers and swings its body latching onto Arbok and swinging them sending them blasting off.

As Janina offered a 3-on-3 match, Janina has at least two other Pokémon on her.
- In the Iberian Spanish dub of Pokémon, she is named Sachiko, which is the Spanish name of Janine. This is probably because the translator mistook her name with Janine's.
- This also happens in the German version, with both sharing the name of Janina.
