• The Impostor Professor Oak character has appeared in other Pokémon media, such as How I Became a Pokémon Card and Pokémon Adventures. He has also been featured on other cards.
• In Pokémon Adventures, Sabrina had her Kadabra disguise itself as Professor Oak. The transformation looks extremely similar to this artwork.

Origin

Impostor Professor Oak is based on Professor Oak, a character in the Pokémon games. In particular, this card is based on Professor Oak's own card, the two having opposite effects from each other.
