==Differences between generations==
In Gold and Silver, the Ice Path looked like an average cave. It was redesigned in Crystal, having received a completely new and unique tile set that better depicts it as an icy cave as well as changes in the features and puzzles. Its design in HeartGold and SoulSilver is thus modeled after the Pokémon Crystal design.
In the Generation II games, collecting 07 is optional. In the Generation IV games, an NPC found nearby will claim that the HM is his and insist that the player take it, and he will not allow the player to proceed until they have collected the item.

When the player interacts with a walking Pokémon in HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Pokémon may occasionally show an altered mood specific to this location:
- The Pokémon becomes more cautious.
- As it is cool, Ice-type Pokémon are happy whereas Grass-types aren't.
- Ground and Flying-type Pokémon constantly shiver.
- Other Pokémon curiously interact with the surrounding ice.
- On the ice tiles, the Pokémon likes to slide around and occasionally stare at its own reflection.

Differences between generations
In Pokémon Gold and Silver, the Ice Path looked like an average cave. It was redesigned in Pokémon Crystal, having received a completely new and unique tile set that better depicts it as an icy cave as well as changes in the features and puzzles. Its design in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver is thus modeled after the Pokémon Crystal design.
In the Generation II games, collecting HM07 (Waterfall) is optional. In the Generation IV games, an NPC found nearby will claim that the HM is his and insist that the player take it, and he will not allow the player to proceed until they have collected the item.
In the anime
The Ice Path has not appeared by name in the anime. The Ice Cave, which serves the same role as the Ice Path, appeared in EP250, which is a banned episode. The Ice Cave had a Pokémon Center inside where Nurse Joy was aided by a Jynx rather than a Chansey.
