Held item
A held item is an item held by Pokémon on direction from their trainer. This capability was first introduced in Generation II, though the thought of held items may extend as far back as Pokémon Yellow, where many Farfetch'd and Kadabra, upon trading to a Generation II game, are revealed to have held items, a Stick and a Twisted Spoon, respectively. Held items range from Berries that can be used in battle to recover to items that can be used to enhance the power of certain moves. Most other items may be held as well, such as Poké Balls and Revives.
The following is a list of items made solely to be held items, grouped by purpose and listed in alphabetical order.
- This list is incomplete. You can help by expanding it.
Type enhancing items
These items, when held, will enhance the potency of attacks that correspond to the item by 10%. For example, if a Pokémon holds Mystic Water and uses a Water-type attack, the power of the Water-type attack will be increased by 10%.
If these items are sold, Poké Marts will pay File:Pokébuck sign.gif50 for them with the exception of Charcoal, for which Poké Marts will pay File:Pokébuck sign.gif4,900 for.
In Generation II, several of these items can only be obtained from the Weekday Siblings.
