Harden (Japanese: かたくなる Stiffen) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Harden increases the user's Defense stat by one stat level. Harden will do nothing if the user's Defense stat has reached a stat level of +6 or a value of 999. The effect of Harden is ignored by critical hits.
