The Hall of Origin (Japanese: はじまりのま Hall of Origin) is where the Legendary Pokémon Arceus resides.
It is an event-only area, located above the Spear Pillar. It is accessible only after the player has obtained the Azure Flute and returns to the Spear Pillar after entering the Hall of Fame, as the event will not be possible until after Team Galactic has been defeated, and Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina has been encountered.
Due to the Azure Flute not being officially distributed, it is impossible to access the Hall of Origin without cheating.
Event description
When the player returns to the Spear Pillar with the Azure Flute, he or she will be asked to play it. In doing so, a staircase will appear, which leads to a glass platform elevated in the Spear Pillar, where Arceus awaits the player's challenge. Stepping onto the platform will automatically initiate the battle. Once Arceus is caught, the Azure Flute will no longer open this staircase and the message "The Azure Flute echoed hollowly..." is shown. Should Arceus be defeated, the Azure Flute can be reused so the player can attempt to battle it again.
In terms of game mechanics, when the player accesses the Hall of Origin by playing the Azure Flute, he or she is actually no longer on the Spear Pillar but rather in a completely separate location, as evidenced by the screen fade-out transition, change in camera angle*, and the location header. That is, the game does not place stair tiles onto the Spear Pillar; instead, it transports the player to a location containing the stairs where the surrounding area looks identical to the Spear Pillar. This dispels a rumor that cheating to reach the Hall of Origin would trap the player on the elevated glass platform without the stairs to lead back down.
Like the Spear Pillar, the Hall of Origin is technically an interior area so the Escape Rope as well as Fly cannot be used to leave the location. It is also within the range of Mt. Coronet's strong magnetic field and therefore Magneton and Nosepass will both evolve here if leveled up.

Music
The theme of the Hall of Origin is a remix of Introduction, and the latter's first notes are also used for the Azure Flute theme.
Trivia
- The internal files of the games contain two "Hall of Origin" maps: the actual Hall of Origin with its unique theme, warps, and events, and an alternate Hall of Origin which uses Spear Pillar as its theme and which no events and warps are programmed.
- If a fateful encounter Arceus is already used for the Sinjoh Ruins event, another Arceus caught in the Hall of Origin may be used to go back to Sinjoh Ruins and choose one of Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina (the one previously chosen with the fateful encounter Arceus cannot be chosen again).
