Green (Japanese: グリーン Green) is Red's rival in the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga. He takes Pokémon much more seriously, although has questionable ethics in attaining his goals. He is based on Blue from the original Pokémon Red and Green. His full name is Kai Midorikawa (Japanese: 緑川 開 Kai Midorikawa), which contains the Japanese word for "green" (緑 midori).
History
Green started on his Pokémon journey the same day as Red when the two Trainers were racing down to Professor Oak's laboratory. Green starts off with a fierce Charmander. By the time Red caught his first official Pokémon, Green has already caught at least eight Pokémon. Later, he is shown flying on his Charizard.

One of the Golbat was later seen in Pokémon Baseball Tournament!! watching the baseball game between Red and Green. | ||
