Biology
Biology
Physiology
Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.
Glaceon is a fox-like creature covered in light-blue fur, which can be frozen into sharp quills. It appears to be wearing a tuque on its head. Glaceon's inner ears, two spots on its back, tail end and cap-endings are all rhombus-shaped and darker blue, in contrast to the soft cyan main body color. Glaceon also has a similar shape on its back. Glaceon's feet are also a dark blue color, giving it the impression of wearing boots.
Gender differences
None.

Special abilities
By controlling its body temperature, it freezes the moisture in the air, producing ice crystals or diamond dust surrounding it. It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, which it can fire at opponents or use as protection as it tackles at its prey. It can quickly drop its body temperature below −75 °F (−60 °C). Glaceon is rather popular in ski resorts due to its ability to create powdery snow. Those captivated by Glaceon's beautiful snowfall will be instantly frozen without realizing it.
Glaceon can use any attack that Eevee knows with the addition of Ice attacks. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Glaceon can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. In addition to that, it can also freeze its fur to make it stand up like needles - similar to its evolutionary kin, Jolteon. By controlling its body heat, it can also freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry.

Behavior
Evolution
The behaviors of Glaceon are currently unknown.
Glaceon evolves from Eevee.

Habitat
(For specifics on this Pokémon's evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)
As an Eevee, it chooses to live anywhere it wants. From there, it can evolve to its surroundings. In this case, an Eevee living in snowy mountains can evolve into a Glaceon.

* Glaceon's name is an anagram of the word congeal (freeze). It's unknown if this is made on purpose or coincidence.
* According to the Pokédex, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Umbreon have identical footprints.
* Glaceon is tied with Jolteon for the shortest Eeveelution.
* As there is no Ice Rock in HeartGold and SoulSilver, it is impossible to evolve Eevee into a Glaceon in these games. The same applies for Magnezone, Probopass, and Leafeon. All have to be traded from Diamond to be obtained.
* Glaceon and Espeon are the only Eeveelutions that share the Special Attack: Special Attack. However, Espeon has a higher Speed stat while Glaceon has a higher Defense stat.
* Despite Eevee being obtainable before the Pokémon League in Pokémon Black and White Versions 2, it cannot evolve into Glaceon or Leafeon until after the Elite Four is defeated. This is because Twist Mountain, where the Ice Rock is located, cannot be reached until that point in the game, as the entrances to it and the Tubeline Bridge are blocked.

Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics of foxes, dogs and cats. It is more closely based on an Arctic fox, due to their habitat. However, its large ears are similar to a fennec fox.

Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from Siamese cat or other Point coloration#In cats, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Glaceon is a combination of glace (French for ice) or glacier (a large, slow moving mass of ice on land) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eevee evolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name.

Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves from Eevee when leveled up near an Ice Rock or when exposed to an Ice Stone.

(Specifics may differ in past games. Refer to Game data→Evolution data for these details.)

It is one of Eevee's final forms, the others being Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Sylveon.

Biology

Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.

Evolution

Glaceon evolves from Eevee.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Glaceon in the anime

Major appearances

May's Glaceon

Glaceon debuted in A Full Course Tag Battle!, where it was revealed that May's Eevee evolved into it prior to the episode's events. It was used to battle Dawn's Piplup in the Battle Stage of the Wallace Cup in Strategy With A Smile!.

Other

In All for the Love of Meloetta!, Cynthia used her Glaceon to make some ice for Meloetta.

Virgil's male Glaceon debuted in Team Eevee and the Pokémon Rescue Squad!, along with an Eevee and her other evolved forms at the time, under the ownership of Virgil. He reappeared in a flashback in the next episode. In Lost at the League!, he defeated a Reuniclus during the third round of the Vertress Conference.

Evolution data

Glaceon evolves from Eevee when exposed to an Ice Rock or, from Generation VIII onwards, when exposed to an Ice Stone. Eevee will always evolve into Glaceon when leveled up near an Ice Rock, even if the evolutionary conditions for it to evolve into Espeon, Umbreon, or Sylveon have also been met. The Ice Rock is not present in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Pokémon Sword and Shield, or Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and the Ice Stone is not obtainable in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Eevee will never evolve into Glaceon in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, as Glaceon is not present in those games.

Trivia

Origin

Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics with foxes, dogs, and cats. It may be more closely based on an arctic fox, due to their habitat. Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from Siamese or other colorpoint cats, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Its "hair" resembles an ushanka or a scarf hat.

Name origin

Glaceon may be a combination of glacier (a large, slow-moving mass of ice on land) or glace (French for ice) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eevee evolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name. Incidentally, its name is also an anagram of congeal (to become solid, usually by cooling).

Glacia may be derived from glacier. It may also involve grace.
