Pokémon TCG: Generations is the name given to one of the upcoming main expansion of cards of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Although Generations is the tenth main expansion released during the XY Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, it is considered a separate special release celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the franchise.

Description

Celebrate 20 years of Pokémon with the Pokémon TCG: Generations expansion, covering every stage of a Trainer's journey, from the choice of a first partner Pokémon to the most Elite of Trainer battles. Featuring Pikachu, Snorlax, Ninetales-EX, and Jolteon-EX, plus Mega Charizard-EX, Mega Blastoise-EX, and Mega Venusaur-EX, the Generations expansion is a power to be reckoned with! Train On.

Information

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the franchise, the Generations expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is a special set to be released February 22, 2016, featuring an incredible amount of Pokémon from Generation I, via means such as Pokémon-EX and Full Art cards. Included within the sets 110+ cards will be the second Radiant Collection subset, a concept first featured in the English Legendary Treasures expansion. This Collection originates from the Japanese PokéKyun Collection, released only a month before.

Unlike most expansions, Generations will not be available via individual booster packs and instead will only be included in special collections available each month throughout the year of 2016, the first of which is the Mythical Pokémon Collection – Mew available in February. Generations features 16 Pokémon-EX, 4 of which will be Mega Evolutions.

Toys "R" Us will give out two exclusive Promo Holofoil cards, along with an activity book and a poster of all 151 Original Pokémon, to children in order to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Pokémon on February 27th, 2016.
