Gaia Volcano · Tidal Storm (Japanese: ガイアボルケーノ・タイダルストーム Gaia Volcano · Tidal Storm) are the names given to the two sub sets that make up the fifth Japanese expansion of cards from the XY Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Information

Gaia Volcano · Tidal Storm feature Groudon and Kyogre in their newly discovered Primal Reversion transformation. Primal Reversion is an extension of the Mega Pokémon-EX mechanic, evolving from the long-standing Pokémon-EX. The only currently seen Primal Pokémon-EX, Template:Merch, sports a new effect named Ω Barrier that states Whenever your opponent plays a Trainer card (excluding Pokémon Tools and Stadium Cards) prevent all effects of that card done to this Pokémon. Each of the two subsets will feature 70+ cards each, with the expansion block being released December 13, 2014.
