g is a glitch Pokémon found in Pokémon Yellow Version. It can only be caught by using a cheating device. Its Pokédex number is 000, while its hexadecimal number is C8 and its special stat required for the Mew glitch is 200. However, instead of fighting g, players will fight a glitch Trainer who freezes the game once encountered, therefore, making g unobtainable in the wild. However, through the use of a cheat device, g could be made one of the starter Pokémon or inserted into the player's party. If traded to the Red/Blue versions, g will become a ゥU?.

g's name is not recognized through the game properly, causing the user to press the A or B buttons multiple times while using g unless it is given a nickname. Once captured, g's encounter flag will show the equivalent of seeing a Cubone, causing Cubone's blank Pokédex page to be viewed. At Level 201, g will evolve into another glitch called .

Game data

Locations

g can only be obtained by using a GameShark code to modify the starter Pokémon or to modify other Trainers' Pokémon with a code to catch other Trainers' Pokémon. Encountering it using the Mew glitch will cause the game to freeze because the trainer that occupies the hexadecimal slot of C8 freezes the game. The Old Man Glitch is unobtainable because the character at hexadecimal slot C8 is unobtainable by normal means. Therefore, the game also freezes in the same manner as with the Mew glitch.

Since g does not exist in any game that uses the Special Attack and Special Defense stats, only its Special stat is listed.

Type effectiveness

g has similar type advantages or disadvantages to that of the normal-type, but because g has two types (the other being an unrecognizable glitch), g is not pure normal.

Learnset

g is capable of learning the following moves. Moves in bold are damaging moves to which STAB apply.
