Tornadus first appeared in A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, where he encounters Thundurus near the Battle Subway train and begins to engage the Bolt Strike Pokémon in battle. As the train stops due to the rough weather, White and Shauntal try to drive the two away. White has Deerling attack the two with Leech Seed, which the two paid no attention to. Shauntal then has her Jellicent attack Tornadus with Energy Ball and Thundurus with Shadow Ball. This only further enrages the two Pokémon and the two clash, forming a twister of wind and lightning. Soon after, Landorus appears to stop the two, as they are destroying crops in their battle, and easily restrains them. While departing into the sky, Tornadus was caught alongside Thundurus and Landorus by Giallo.
Tornadus first appeared in A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway. He fought against Thundurus in a field the Battle Subway train happened to be passing by. The intense weather created from the battle activated the train's emergency stop system, forcing it to wait until the weather cleared up. White, not wanting the train and field to be damaged during the battle, decided to step in and stop the two Pokémon, but her lack of skill as a Trainer prevented her from doing damage to either. Shauntal stepped in and attack the two with her Jellicent, but only succeed in enraging Tornadus and Thundurus further. Shauntal reveals that her intention was to provoke the two so that Landorus would be forced to appear and stop Tornadus and Thundurus from fighting. As Landorus takes Tornadus and Thundurus away, the three Pokémon are captured by Giallo.

Tornadus was later given to the Shadow Triad alongside Thundurus and Landorus to use in their battle against the Unova Gym Leaders at the Nacrene Museum to try to get the Dark Stone. The trio immediately gains an upper hand, creating a tornado of wind, lightning, and rocks. The Shadow Triad then have the trio attempt to destroy the entrance to the museum's basement where the Dark Stone is located, but they are unable to break through. The Forces of Nature then depart to N's Castle with the Shadow Triad, carrying the defeated Gym Leaders in a sphere of wind and lightning.
Giallo later gave the Forces of Nature to the Shadow Triad to aid in their mission to steal the Dark Stone from the Nacrene Museum. During the mission, the Shadow Triad face the Unova Gym Leaders in battle, but are eventually defeated. Not willing to give up, the Shadow Triad summon Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus and have them trap the Gym Leaders in a vortex of their respective elements. Though they won the battle, the vortex accidentally destroyed the door to the safe house where the Dark Stone was held. After their attempt to forcefully open the safe house's door fails, the Shadow Triad have the Forces of Nature take the captured Gym Leaders to N's Castle.

Tornadus was later given to Colress in order to figure out how to change Tornadus between his List of Pokémon with form differences. In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Tornadus to fight against the Elite Four alongside Thundurus and Landorus to further collect data about his Therian Forme. The trio eventually flee in the middle of their battle, forcing the Elite Four to track them down. The Elite Four soon find the Forces of Nature and Marshal has Caitlin assist him with her Gothitelle's Telekinesis, allowing Marshal and his Sawk to fight their airborne opponents. Shauntal quickly has her Golurk attack Tornadus with Heavy Slam, causing major damage to the Cyclone Pokémon. While watching the battle Hood Man discovers that mirrors are the key to changing Tornadus to his Therian Forme and that he still needs to find the correct mirror. Hood Man then notices that Ghetsis is in trouble and recalls the trio while going to assist him.

Two years later, Tornadus appears before Blake and Whitley on 20, attacking the two Trainers. Tornadus changes into his Therian Forme with the help of the Reveal Glass, which had been obtained by Team Plasma. Blake has his Blake attack Tornadus with Razor Shell, which Tornadus easily dodges. Dewott then tries a combination attack of Razor Shell and Aqua Jet, which Tornadus evades before quickly retaliating with multiple Air Slashes. Recognizing the Cyclone Pokémon's strength, Blake sends out Keldemaru to help assist Dewott in the battle. Tornadus is quickly overwhelmed by the two Pokémon and their combination attacks of Sacred Sword and Razor Shell. Tornadus then notices Giallo, who was the Cyclone Pokémon's original target when coming to route 20. Tornadus quickly takes out Giallo's Krookodile and begins to escape with the sage. To prevent Tornadus from escaping, Blake has Keldemaru attack with Ice Beam, followed by Dewott's Razor Shell, freeze Tornadus solid. With Tornadus frozen, the Team Plasma Grunts retreat, returning Tornadus to his Poké Ball.
Two years later, Blake, hearing that strange winds were reported in 20, went there to investigate. Shortly after arriving, Tornadus appeared before him and transformed into its Therian Forme. Recognizing Tornadus's strength, Blake sends out Keldemaru to battle alongside Blake. Keldemaru and Dewott's combination attacks overwhelm Tornadus, but it begins ignoring them to go after Giallo, who had rejected the decision to make Colress the new leader of Team Plasma. Tornadus grabs Giallo and attempts to take him away, but is soon freeze by Keldemaru's attacks. With Tornadus defeated, the Team Plasma Grunts controlling it recall Tornadus back into his Poké Ball and retreat.

Tornadus is a powerful Pokémon, holding his own against other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon like Thundurus and Keldemaru. Tornadus is incredibly fast, using his speed to outmaneuver opponents and was mention by Blake that his Genesect's List of Pokémon with form differences was inferior to the Cyclone Pokémon's speed. Rough weather typically accompanies Tornadus and he is said to never stay in the same place for more than five minutes. He has a strong rivalry with Thundurus, as the two battle so often it is common knowledge that Landorus is constantly restraining them from fighting. Tornadus seems to have no allegiance, as he had no problem attacking Giallo.

History

Black & White arc

The Forces of Nature were later given to Colress in order to figure out how to change them into their Therian Formes. In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus to battle against the Unova Elite Four. During the battle, Shauntal battles against Tornadus with her Golurk. Though he fails in transforming the Forces of Nature into their Therian Formes, Colress discovers the secret to their Forme Change is mirrors and sets out to find the correct mirror.

Black 2 & White 2 arc

Two years later, Blake, hearing that strange winds were reported in Route 20, went there to investigate. Shortly after arriving, Tornadus appeared before him and transformed into its Therian Forme. Recognizing Tornadus's strength, Blake sends out Keldemaru to battle alongside Dewott. Keldemaru and Dewott's combination attacks overwhelm Tornadus, but it begins ignoring them to go after Giallo, who had rejected the decision to make Colress the new leader of Team Plasma. Tornadus grabs Giallo and attempts to take him away, but is soon frozen by Keldemaru's attacks. With Tornadus defeated, the Team Plasma Grunts controlling it recall Tornadus back into his Poké Ball and retreat.

Personality and characteristics

Tornadus is a powerful Pokémon, holding his own against other Legendary and Mythical Pokémon like Thundurus and Keldemaru. In its Therian Forme, Tornadus is incredibly fast, and was stated by Blake that Genesect's High-Speed Flight Form was inferior to the Cyclone Pokémon's speed. Rough weather typically accompanies Tornadus and he is said to never stay in the same place for more than five minutes. He has a strong rivalry with Thundurus, as the two battle so often it is common knowledge that Landorus is constantly restraining them from fighting.

Team Plasma's Thundurus (Japanese: プラズマ団のボルトロス Plasma-dan's Voltolos) was the first of the Forces of Nature to appear.

History

Prior to the start of the Black & White arc, as a child, Elesa encountered Thundurus on her way to her grandmother's house on Route 7. The incident inspired Elesa to try and capture Thundurus, as she wished to become an Electric-type expert.

Thundurus first appeared in Battle on a Roller Coaster, where Black encountered him outside the Nimbasa Gym. Due to a malfunction at the Gym's roller coaster, Black was trapped inside a roller coaster car and was taken outside, where he encountered the Bolt Strike Pokémon, who proceeded to shock Black with electricity and disappear. Though injured from the experience, Black was freed from the car.

In A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, Thundurus fought against Tornadus in a field the Battle Subway train happened to be passing by. Shauntal reveals that her intention was to provoke the two so that Landorus would be forced to appear and stop Thundurus and Tornadus from fighting. As Landorus takes Thundurus and Tornadus away, the three Pokémon are captured by Giallo.

Giallo later gave the Forces of Nature to the Shadow Triad to aid in their mission to steal the Dark Stone from the Nacrene Museum. During the mission, the Shadow Triad face the Unova Gym Leaders in battle, but are eventually defeated. Not willing to give up, the Shadow Triad summon Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus and have them trap the Gym Leaders in a vortex of their respective elements. Though they won the battle, the vortex accidentally destroyed the door to the safe house where the Dark Stone was held. After their attempt to forcefully open the safe house's door fails, the Shadow Triad have the Forces of Nature take the captured Gym Leaders to N's Castle.

The Forces of Nature were later given to Colress in order to figure out how to change them into their Therian Formes. In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus to battle against the Unova Elite Four. During the battle, Caitlin battles against Thundurus with her Gothitelle. Though he fails in transforming the Forces of Nature into their Therian Formes, Colress discovers the secret to their Forme Change is mirrors and sets out to find the correct mirror.

Team Plasma's Landorus (Japanese: プラズマ団のランドロス Plasma-dan's Landlos) was the third of the Forces of Nature to appear.

History

Landorus first appeared in A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, where it appeared to stop the battle between Tornadus and Thundurus near the Battle Subway train. Landorus quickly restrains the two and begins to take them away in to the sky. As they depart, Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus were captured by Giallo.

Giallo later gave the Forces of Nature to the Shadow Triad to aid in their mission to steal the Dark Stone from the Nacrene Museum. During the mission, the Shadow Triad face the Unova Gym Leaders in battle, but are eventually defeated. Not willing to give up, the Shadow Triad summon Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus and have them trap the Gym Leaders in a vortex of their respective elements. Black attempts to stop the Shadow Triad's attack, but Landorus easily defeats Black's Bo and sends it flying.

In Cold Hard Truth, Colress, disguised as Hood Man, sends out Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus to battle against the Unova Elite Four. During the battle, Marshal battles against Landorus with his Sawk. Though he fails in transforming the Forces of Nature into their Therian Formes, Colress discovers the secret to their Forme Change is mirrors and sets out to find the correct mirror.
