Flying Pikachu (Japanese: そらをとぶピカチュウ Flying Pikachu) is a Lightning-type Basic Pokémon card. It was released as a promotional card in Japan only. This page uses the English equivalents of Japanese names.

Release information
This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was released as a special card by All Nippon Airways throughout June and July in 1999. Passengers flying in conjunction with the “Pokémon Getaways” campaign could redeem their boarding passes for the 2 card set including Flying Pikachu and Articuno. The card was never released in English.
Trivia
- Since the release of this card, Pikachu that know Fly have appeared in other Pokémon media. A Pikachu with Fly can be downloaded to a Pokémon video game at certain events.
Origin
Thunder Jolt is similar to ThunderShock, a move in the Pokémon games that Pikachu can learn. Fly is also a move, though Pikachu cannot learn it under normal conditions.
