Flail (Japanese: じたばた Wriggling) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation II.
Effect
Flail inflicts damage and will inflict greater damage when the user's HP is low. Flail's power is calculated by the following formula:
P = (48 * CurrentHP) ÷ MaxHP
P | ~HP% | Power |
---|---|---|
P > 32 | > 66% | 20 |
17 ≤ P ≤ 32 | 33% - 66% | 40 |
10 ≤ P ≤ 16 | 20% - 33% | 80 |
5 ≤ P ≤ 9 | 10% - 20% | 100 |
2 ≤ P ≤ 4 | 3% - 10% | 150 |
P ≤ 1 | < 3% | 200 |
Flail can be used as part of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining an extra appeal point if the move Endure was used in the prior turn. It is also part of a Contest Spectacular combination and will give an extra three appeal points if the move Endure was used in the prior turn.
