The Explorer Kit is used to access the Underground of Sinnoh.

The player receives it from the Underground Man in Eterna City any time after arriving in town.

When selected from the Bag menu, it asks the user to save the game and indicates that DS Wireless Connection will be turned on. It then transports the player from his or her current location into the corresponding spot of the Underground's tunnels. One cannot dig through elevated structures such as bridges.

The Kit includes all the basic tools used when adventuring in the Underground: the hammer and pickaxe, the map, the radar, and containers for Spheres and Decorations (aka Goods). The radar locates all treasure, spheres, and/or traps in the Underground. The hammer and pickaxe are both used to dig through walls to find spheres and treasure, though the hammer makes a bigger impact and causes the wall to collapse sooner. The map is displayed on the top screen and shows all of the Underground as well as spots to dig into the walls. When certain tools are used for the first time, notes describing their functionality are shown to the user.

For some strange reason, an action replay code for 95 of each TM puts 95 Explorer kits in your mail section in the bag.
