Eusine (Japanese: ミナキ Minaki) is a researcher and expert in the Legendary Beasts. For years he has chased Suicune, the embodiment of the North Wind, but to no avail.

He appears in Pokémon Crystal, and is apparently from Celadon.

In the Pokémon anime, he only uses an Alakazam, but in the game he has a Haunter, a Drowzee, and an Electrode. In the manga Golden Boys, he uses a Hypno.

His personality changes quite a bit depending on which version is being referenced. In Pokémon Special he is highly egotistical, even to the point of giving out autographed pictures of himself. In the anime episode For Ho-oh the Bells Toll, he exhibits a near-religious fervor for Suicune, challenging Ash for daring to say that he'd met the legendary beast. This is somewhat interesting compared to his appearence in Raikou: Legend of Thunder when he mentions Suicine only once, and then only in reference to the other beasts.

In Raikou: Legend of Thunder, he assists Kenta, Marina, and Jun'ichi in their battle against Basho and Buson. Marina falls for him because he wears a cape.

He is apparently very close friends with Morty, who is also an expert on the Ecruteak legends. Morty is the voice of reason, trying to convince Eusine to calm down and ease up, but to no avail. When Eusine leaves suddenly at the end of the episode, Morty's lack of surprise indicates that this has happened before.

There is a fanon theory regarding the English versions that says that Minaki is his real name and he chose Eusine to reflect his reverence for Suicune, but there is no evidence for this.

He is voiced by 川田紳司 Shinji Kawada in Japanese and Ted Lewis in English. Template:Animestub Template:Gamestub
